Leadership
The Ministry of Natural Resources is headed by the Minister, appointed by the Governor, with a First Deputy Minister and a Deputy Minister. The Forestry and Protected Areas Service and the Plant Quarantine Inspectorate are headed by their own chiefs.
Chingiz Asanov
Minister of Natural Resources · since 2016
Chingiz Asanov was born in 1963. He graduated as a mining engineer from the Frunze Polytechnic Institute and went to work at the Sary-Bulak Antimony Works in 1985, becoming its chief engineer in 2001.
He was Deputy Minister of Natural Resources from 2009 and has been Minister since 2016. He introduced the revised stibnite royalty schedule and the tailings-safety conditions of the mining leases in 2018.

Born in 1968 in Sary-Bulak. Geologist (Kyrgyz State University, 1990); worked for the territorial geological survey and the licensing department of the ministry, which he headed from 2007. Responsible for mining and oil licences and the register of deposits.
Irina Litvinenko

Born in 1975 in Talas. Hydrologist; worked at the Hydrometeorological Service and from 2012 in the ministry's environmental department. Responsible for tailings and mine safety, water protection and the public hearings on permits.

Born in 1966. Forester; ranger and later head of the Besh-Tash Ranger Headquarters (1996–2014).
